Supporting tamariki and their whanau during lockdown

Another year, another lockdown!

Supporting tamariki and their whanau during these difficult times is paramount to the team here at Before Six.  The introduction of Storypark in August came at the perfect time. This secure and private online platform has enabled us to stay connected with our children and their whanau whilst staying safe in their bubbles.

Our amazing kaiako have been incredibly busy during the lockdown, sharing ideas for home learning, creating videos to share with our tamariki, including planting experiences, storytelling and a beautiful Father’s Day slideshow featuring photos of the tamariki with their dads, grandads, and other significant males within their lives. It has also been a wonderful space for whanau to share photos, videos, and stories of their children’s daily experiences during their time at home. This week as we move into level 2, we are really looking forward to having many of our beautiful tamariki return to the centre, however, we will continue to update Storypark regularly with videos, at-home learning ideas and any important information or notices for parents and whanau. Nga mihi nui, the Before Six team.
